Video Screening and Charity Auction!

Video Screening and Charity Auction!

Postby mozzer on Wed Mar 02, 2005 7:46 pm

We here at Decemberists HQ are pleased to announce an intimate screening of all 3 (count ‘em, 3!) Decemberists videos currently in existence. Said screening will occur on Saturday, March 5th at Nocturnal in Portland. For those of you outside of the proverbial loop, we will be screening the video for “The Soldiering Life,” and the two newest editions to our videography, “The Bachelor and the Bride,” and “Sixteen Military Wives.” This will be an all ages event, though there are drink-like beverages to be had in the downstairs. The screening will happen at 7:30 and is free! Nocturnal is located at 1800 E. Burnside.

Additionally, starting on March 4th at 8 a.m., several pieces of significant Decemberist memorabilia will be going up on auction at eBay.com. All proceeds of this auction will be donated to Mercy Corp. Simply search 'decemberists charity' on eBay and the auction items should pop up. The items will include, but are not limited to, hand silk-screened concert posters, limited edition vinyl editions of the records, several Colin Meloy Sings Morrissey EPs, and even one original ‘Five Songs’ EP – all signed by the band.

All profits to charity? You're a good man, Mr. Meloy.

I think Funk, Ms Conlee, Mr Query (if that's his real name), as well as new guys Petra and John are pretty good, too. (And worth a lick, as someone suggested above.)

but the important thing is this:

MY SWEET LORD! If there was ever a reason to book a last minute flight to PDX, THIS IS IT!

thanks for listening.

I refuse to bid if Colin doesn't have a high ebay seller rating.

Hey - Nocturnal's ad in the Mercury says the screening will be at 7:00, not 7:30... which time is correct?

(Not that being half an hour early will kill me or anything, but I'd like to know...)

If any of y'all wanna say hi, I've got short blonde hair and glasses, and Elvis Costello and Jim O'Rourke pins on my purse... :)

Since 8am for you chaps equals 4pm over here, therefore beautifully close to the end of the working week, I've been checking out the auction from the off.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE, however, that the ebay search phrase you need is 'decemberists auction' (not the 'charity' that Mr. Meloy stated above!).

Got that? 'DECEMBERISTS AUCTION'.

Avance!
