Two Beers Veirs October 21st

Two Beers Veirs October 21st

Postby gggrrrr on Tue Oct 20, 2009 9:01 pm

Having just stepped off our plane from LA, I looked at my date book and discovered I am playing a free Two Beers Veirs show on Wed. October 21st. It's 21 and over, free, here in lovely Portland at the Laurelthirst Pub, 6pm - 8pm.

For those that don't know, it's Laura Veirs singing and playing banjo/guitar, myself on mandolin and dobro, Annalisa Tornfelt on fiddle. Nate will be joining us on bass as well.

We are also confirmed to play there on NYE again.

Come say hello tomorrow.

So thaat's why you guys were in such a rush after the UCLA show. I was thinking the first show you had to be back for was the You Who thing. Well, have fun!

Loved the show, but why do people have to talk so loud while amazing musicians are trying to share thier talents? Place should have been packed, but I think Portland's hipster dufuses are getting a bit too hip.

July Flame is fabulous.

Hey, you shoulda' said something, you could've hung out with us! :(

Course, we were talking pretty loudly once the pitchers of beer started arriving, so we're probably some of the people you were complaining about. >_>

haha, yes, i was going to say that as well. i remember saying at one point that we were the loudest people in the bad.

however, to counter just a bit, it was happy hour, right after work, and it was pretty cool to unwind with friends and listen to good music. if it was the crystal and i had paid $20 for a ticket, yeah, i'd be annoyed, but it was free and it was all for fun.

and yes, july flame is really magnificent.
