Hi gang,
--THE VENUE DOUBLE BOOKED, THE SHOW WILL NOW BE THE DAY BEFORE ON SATURDAY 24th--

My lady and I are starting a new live monthly kids show here in Portland called "You Who". We, The Decemberists that is, are going to kick off the party on October 24th. There is a description below with all the details.

The music portion last about a half hour, and the first half hour is a bunch of other weird stuff for kids to freak out on.

I've been put in charge of getting the bands in there to play, it's looking like a fun line up.

If you have kids, do come out. If you don't, you can still come but it's a bit more expensive, so go with those annoying neighbors from across the street!

Enjoy the rest of summer and we'll see you on down the road!
- Christopher Funk

Haha, yeah, I'll just lend my kids to those of you I know, and trust. If I run out of kids to loan, some of you might have to pretend to be polygamists, or actually pay the extra $5.

I'm so excited for this to become a regular event!

Funk - are you going to get Captain Bogg and Salty out for one of the shows?

I hope this is one step towards The Decemberists becoming more like They Might Be Giants, with kid oriented albums such as "Here Comes the Vagabonds, Wastrels, and Bedwetters.

Ahhh, this explains the You Who email that I got this morning from TM. I saw Sunday and 10am, then I assumed TM was smokin' something. A kid's show... Makes perfect sense now.

I almost wish I had kids. :) KS is practically down the street. I may drag my wife to the inaugural show just to see wassap.
